Be honest with any buyers - If your boat has had a few bumps and scrapes in the past tell the buyer about them. He will be inspecting your boat and if he finds things that you have hidden it will create doubts in the buyers mind. If he has a survey done, they will be shown up anyway.

Get the price right - Price your boat correctly, too high and it will not sell, too low and you are losing money. Have a look on the internet and find other boats the same as yours. Look in your local newspaper adverts or your favourite boat magazine classifieds. Even look in local dealers to see what the second hand dealer price is, this is also a good selling point when talking to potential buyers, "I have seen this very same model in a dealer for 5000 more!". The more you look around the more you familiarize yourself with the price of boats like yours and be able to judge the best price to sell it at and what your bottom line will be.
