Give the engine a quick check - Top up the oil and the water. Any prospective buyer may have a look and if the level of engine oil is low, it will surely put them off. Make your car look like it is well maintained.

Get rid of the clutter! - Clutter in the home does two things. Obviously a messy house is not pleasant to look at and so will not trigger the right emotional response.
